Damn I'd definitely come... love hold 'em.

But, it's our big annual IS300 meet in Ohio... taking off a few days to drive out there with the GF.

I'll definitely be down for next time though. Have fun

I really appreciate the interest several of you have expressed to me via IM, facebook, and in this thread about coming and hanging out during the game. I want to just be honest, and not sound like a dick here. My apartment is only so big. I typically hold my tournaments on Sunday afternoons, and with this one on a Friday night, I am concerned about 16+ people in my apartment, and the noise bothering my neighbors into the later evening hours. I'm all for people coming over who want to play, and trust me, I have done this before, the game will move slow with a ton of players. With extra people around, things could slow down even more, which none of the players will want. If you've got a girlfriend who wants to come and hang out, by all means. My lady will be there doing some cooking, bartending, etc. I hope you guys understand, I'd like to keep this gathering to players, and player's girls as much as possible.

I didn't realize it was an apartment, but maybe you should edit your first post then.

Sam already has to deal with me being loud...I think he's just worried about 16 of me losing a hand all at once and waking the neighbors

In all seriousness, it's big enough for everyone, but not comfortable for everyone plus eleventeen others watching and hanging out. I see where he's coming from.

It'll be a damn good time as always. I'll be there with my posse, yo. Like it or not, Sammy ;)

Anyone with half a brain can learn poker in 15 minutes. It's like that old game 'Mastermind', easy to learn, lifetime to master. Hold'em is one of a VERY short list of card games that can be more skill than luck. Obviously, luck helps, but you don't need the best cards to win, it's all about skill. You've got a week to learn if you want to come and play.

I can't believe with the amount of coverage in mainstream media and on ESPN with the world series of poker, there are still people who don't play this great game! Ever since Chris Moneymaker won the WSOP in what, 2002? The game has just exploded!
