i was talking with a buddy who has his radar wired into his gps, i remembered reading about the escort passport iq and how it has the same option but doesnt need to be hard wired. does anyone here have any experiences with the passport iq? what is its overall function is it any good?

I have the 9500ix, which is the windshield model, and it's awesome. The GPS feature works flawlessly. A few here have or have had the iq models, and they work just as well. I honestly wouldn't ever consider a radar detector that requires you to wire into a third party GPS.

I'm using an Escort IQ on the rally right now. It's working pretty well so far. A lot less falses than my V1. However, I think I want to change to a hardwired 9500ix connected to a Android phone on a carmount with their Escort Live cable or whatever it's called. I don't use the GPS function a lot so the phone screen would suit me better.
