it's interesting. the possibilities are endless.
Apart from fees, couldnt you do everything with paypal already?
Bitcoin is going to fail. There are so many spin off copies of it already that it can't really go anywhere. There's even a copy named after that annoying dodge meme.
Any given crypto currency may fail, and bitcoin is currently the most significant bubble in the world (although amusingly, you cannot really profit from betting on it crashing, for amusing reasons - mostly that the only way to get paid on your bet is in post crash bitcoin, after you bet pre crash bitcoin) - but the overall concept could likely stand up over time - the current competitive environment will require failure before it flushes out.
I wouldn't put any money into anything relating to it though, in terms of investment - other than just throwing it away on a lark, or if you need to do something illegal in Africa or something.
litecoins are where its at.

Stupid.
I think it's easier to equate it to a commodity than a currency right now. If it gains traction and really takes off I might reconsider, but not with the limited use it has right now.
It's also impossible to get into mining right now without spending thousands on specialized hardware. I set up my desktop to run in a pool for fun since I do nothing with it. In a month I've made about $0.20 worth of Bitcoin.
Unless you get your power for free, mining it is literally a waste of money these days.
(I guess you could argue the intangible econ sense of it, where you derive enjoyment out of it, etc)
If you want to make a lot off of it in a computing sense, focus on stealing bitcoin wallets.

Cryptocurrencies is doing good. Apple already partnered with XRP and a few global banks are starting to use cryptocurrencies too. This may be the new direction - but I am still hesitant. Your thoughts guys?
