Just seems like an odd addition for a guy who wants to reduce weight as much as possible

WOW i LOVE that color combination.

It is kinda making me kick myself for not getting an atomic orange Z06. I was talked out of it though.

$950 for a gas cap. This man knows how to play the exotics tax game.

    Carbon fiber plates.
Not plate frames - the actual plates.
Raised numbers/letters painted to match the car.

    Yes, illegal, but whatever.
Just the right amount of way too much.

For a setup big enough to do a license plate? Cheap. Like $100 at harbor freight.

I have been working with the exact process you need to make car parts. We have rolls and rolls of carbon fiber weave sitting here. I was talking to the composites engineer to make a full body under tray.

You can do it with the same stuff. If you're curious, check out www.jamestowndistributors.com . They have a lot of good tutorial videos online. It's intended for boat repair, but the same stuff applies. They also sell vacuum bagging stuff, cf, resin, etc.

We build custom CF parts too. It's not that difficult once you figure out what ratios of resin to use, etc. Hardest part is getting a good mold.

If you guys do go through with it, stick to non-essential things to reduce your legal exposure.
If you take that on, then you will want to register a company to limit your personal liability, and then get insurance within there.

    First piece, full carbon frame.

In all seriousness I have some ideas on things that would make a good starting point I think. Also some ideas on marketing. Also not being a general asshat seems like it would go along way in a car related industry, in which there are a lot of terrible business people.

I've seriously thought about it. Mold making actually intrigues me. But agree, no structural parts.

You could make so much money by saying you will do something, and then in exchange for money, doing that.

Blows my mind how many businesses can't do that, given that is like the whole point. And yet they are still around.
