Would anyone have any interest in a trip to Germany, visiting car manufacturers, the nordschlief and some places for beer?

More than I can afford, pal.

Unless something big changes between now and then which is unlikely at best.

want to? yes. Can I afford to? no.

I think the first time I make it overseas will be to go see the 24 hours of LeMans. And that is probably still two years away.

It would be cool, but I think it would be more than I would want to spend.

They'd still be LHD in Europe except for the UK/Ireland.

I went last month during Oktoberfest and had a blast.... It is ludicrously expensive though, spent 1000 euros on The Nurburgring alone (getting there + 6 lap car rental). Plus you should wait till Oktoberfest next year to go!

I would love to but I just to Frankfurt last August and hit up all the spots in Western Germany. Of course now the exchange rate is much better. I would stay in Cologne next time as it's a much nicer city. Might I suggest:

    -quattro GmbH in Neckarsulm
    -Porsche Museum in Stuttgart
-Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart (plan to get to Stuttgart early because if you hit both museums it will take all day!)
(if you're driving south to get to Neckarsulm and Stuttgart you will pass the Hockenheimring; worth stopping)
-Toyota Motorsport GmbH Museum in Cologne
-Dom Cathedral in Cologne (not car related but insanely cool gothic cathedral)
-Nurburgring Nordshliefe (obviously; I rented with RSR Nurburg and had a good experience)

if you go to Munich there's the BMW Museum; I never made it out that far. I'm sure there's lots more to see but I can say at least those things were incredible and well worth the trip. Don't forget to drink beer in the streets, just because you can!
