I was hoping someone on here might know somewhere around Boston that I could get the frame of my truck oil or wax/oil coated. There's a place in NH but the wax/oil is a 2 day job, so I was hoping there might be somewhere closer

It's illegal in MA, so you will need to go out of state for that.

i believe using recycled oil as a coating is illegal, but stuff like fluid film should be legal

It looks like NH is the only New England state where oil undercoating is not illegal. I would guess that covers any coating that is meant to wear off / drip off of the underside of a car. I would say that if it's not permanent paint or rubberized undercoat it's probably not allowed outside of NH.

I don't think you're going to get busted at the border on your way back. No idea if it's illegal to use in MA or just illegal to apply.

Convenient is New Hampshire. Unless you want to go to Canada

There's not much else to say. There's only one New England state where the undercoat is not illegal - New Hampshire.

Does this stuff even work anyway? I know some people swear by it, but the kind of people who would seek out an extra maintenance step are the kind of people who would take care of a car anyway - so their cars would probably be in better than average condition anyway.

Wagner makes an underbody spray you can apply yourself in a few hours. AMMO NYC did a review on it.

Heaven forbid I propose that fluid film may be legal where the use of motor oil isn't

talked with someone who has worked on a vehicle that had the oil treatment. it is messy if you ever have to work on the vehicle. i could see an inspection shop giving you a fail for this. probably not worth it

It's just renaming the same product. An oil-based undercarriage glaze would also be illegal for the same reasons. The same goes for an undercarriage baste, spritz, splash or soak.

I think NH is probably your best option at this point unless that place in RI does it too. Maybe I can pick you up after u drop it off when I'm up there for work?

Guys- I think what she's trying to accomplish is being able to drive a modified new truck all winter, without it looking like a boat anchor underneath come spring.

I assume other than that undercoating rhino lining (which can trap water and create rust) there really isn't an option locally?
