Guys- I think what she's trying to accomplish is being able to drive a modified new truck all winter, without it looking like a boat anchor underneath come spring.

I assume other than that undercoating rhino lining (which can trap water and create rust) there really isn't an option locally?

yea my gti has similar underneath. too bad they left the inner sheet metal basically bare so when you get in with wet feet it soaks the sound deadening and makes a nice we sponge to create rust in your floor pans. thanks VW.......

You could also try Boeshield T-9, I've heard good things about that. I've mostly heard of people using it to keep their coilovers from corroding, but it looks like some truck guys use it for their whole undercarriage.

The pinzgauer came preserved in cosmoline from 1973! Not the waxy shit more like the sloppy grease bucket shit 1/4 of an inch thick and that was on the inside from the factory. Undercarriage was just as bad slightly worn off and the outside was just washed with diesel fuel as the norm to protect against rust.

My friend Lynley coats the underside of her F250 with WD40

I'm not sure that's doing anything. I thought WD40 mostly evaporated a short time after spraying it on things.

I hear that the King Ranch version actually repels water and salt from its underside.
