Figure this is LONG over due...

So I listen to a lot of different types of music, but the majority of what I listen to falls under this category...

Here is what I am cranking right now... a buddy who DJ's(not Sam) goes by the name of DJ 007 puts out these monthly podcasts... with a pretty eclectic sound... This month starts off with a really bad ass international feel and comes in strong with some Tiesto right after... check it out

Here is the mix(Right click, save as)...
    January 2010
    1. Oskar Zenkert - Oriental (Orginal Mix)
    2. Tiesto - Louder Than Boom (Extended Mix)
    3. Spencer & Hill - I Want You (Maurizio Gubellini Remix)
    4. Andy Caldwell - Black Diamond Sky feat. Storm Lee (Morgan Page Vocal Mix)
    5. Fedde Le Grand - Let Me Be Real (Hook N Sling vs. Goodwill Remix)
    6. Saeed Younan vs MIKA - Backroom RAIN (DJ 007 Mashup)
    7. The Thrillseekers ft Aruna - Waiting Here For You (Night Music Edit)
    8. First State Feat. Sarah Howells - Brave (Original Mix)
    9. DJ Wayko - El Mariachi (Astroboy vs Wayko Mix)
    10. Young Rebels & Francesco Diaz - 1998 (Original Mix

Also available via iTunes at "DJ 007" monthly podcasts

    not suprising, lol

Tiesto is prolly the biggest name in there and Oscar Zenkert has nothing to do with dance music/electronic music... I believe thats just some turkish insturmental music

Nice, good thread Pete, about time we got one of these.

One of my favorite electronic music artists is Ratatat. They've been around for a while, have 3 albums plus two hip-hop remix albums that are awesome. Their music is in Knocked Up as the scenes change and I've also heard them in one of those Rhapsody commercials.

Here's one of my favorite tracks:

hip hop remix albums? just different songs? or did they do like Guetta and have hip hop artists put down lyrics over there produced beats?

They are unchanged lyrically with different beats. They did some well-known songs, like Diamonds by Kanye West, and Party and Bullshit by the Notorious BIG. The latter is my favorite remix song they do.

Best of all both the remix albums were free.

Hmm I'm not sure. The download link for Vol. 2 doesn't work on Rapidshare anymore and Vol. 1 isn't on the website. I'll find you some download links when I get home from work.

And I just discovered Steve Angello. He's got some decent stuff too.

Some other random names that might be worth checking for you are: Justice, MSTRKRFT, Deadmau5 (really taking over the Electronic scene, and wears a huge freakish Mouse helmet when DJ'ing to boot), Daft Punk (of course), L.A Riots, Soulwax, I could go on and on, lol.

Also check out "Nadastrom", they have some cool stuff. I dig L.A Riots too most of the time, they put pretty good twists on some Pop Songs. They did a cool Remix of Hot Chip's "Ready For The Floor".

There's a pretty good Remix of a song called by AutoErotique called "Gladiator", if you like the hard kinda crazy Funky stuff. The Remix is by the recently deceased (RIP) DJ AM and Steve Aoki.
