  1. #1 Default Non-Scratching Lug Nut socket?
I want to buy a non scratching lug nut socket for my car. I think I saw a rubber coated one on some website but I forgot where I saw it. If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

    Thanks

if your waiting for that thing to come in before you put new rims on or whatever your doing then you should just go with kyles idea, ive never scratched a lug nut using a standard socket, if its been painted thats a different animal, tape should prevent any damage though, as kyle said just be careful

+1, they can get stolen either way. I'd rather they be gone than half off and all f'd up and have ins gimme 100 per for refinish on my 3pcs.

What are you worried about scratching?
    The wheel, or the lugs?
If you're concerned about the wheel, follow Kyle's advice.
If you're worried about the lug, sell your car.

I bought this socket to use..
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

It has rubber on the outside...

Then, to protect the lugnuts if they are anodized, you just put a ziplock baggie over the lugnut before putting the socket on there, and you are protecting both the wheel & the lugs..
