  1. #1 Default F355 - 56K go away! (pic heavy)
This won't be a build thread, but just a documentary of me bringing it out of hibernation. I have a check list of things I want to accomplish; some will be immediate, some might not happen until next year. Currently I'm getting quotes from various shops on doing the major service and to diagnose my clutch issue.

The purpose of the thread will be to document the car as I bring it from clunker to weekend driver. I do not want to get it to concours quality, but 'just good enough'.

Here is a check list of things I hope to accomplish:

30K service (belts, hoses, fluids, belt tensioners, gaskets, cam seals, degree cams, leak down/compression tests) - AMNE
Clutch (slipage and leaking. Hoping it is the triple seals on the output shaft. Easy fix. Hopefully disk can be saved/refinished) - AMNE
Refinish valve covers, oil tank - AMNE
    Rotors - Turn or replace
    Refinish wheels - ACE?
New rear tires - need 265 or 275 40 18 PS2. Probably will go to tire rack.
Front/rear bumper respray, driver's rocker panel. Not 100% satisfied with color. Body shop near work resprayed my passenger rocker panel and I think I am going back to him
    Bumper skid protectors in front.
shock rebuild - DIY removal, either bilstein direct or delta vee racing for rebuild.
    shock actuators rebuild - DIY
Interior- Driver side seat looks horrible. Worn leather, torn stitching. same with e brake boot. Need to evaluate if anything can be salvaged before resorting to recovering everything. - ?
suspension bushings replaced - DIY. Tom is helping me source aftermarket bushings.

There's a lot here, and unfortunately its going to be pretty exensive along the way. It will be a slow process, and I need to start by prioritizing some of the bullets.

There will be a lot of odds and ends along the way too that will be DIY, like updating the power steering reservoir, hood struts, etc that I will do. Luckily, most Ferrari factory parts are just rebranded Bosche, etc parts. There is an extensive library of interchangable parts on fchat from mirror switchs to MAFs that really help cut costs for the DIYer.

    Here's a small project I tackled yesterday:

    Looks like shit right?

I have been keeping my eye out for a replacement for a while. they are usually ~$500. I found one on ebay for $50 and jumped on it.

Why so cheap? The vent pin snapped off.

easy fix! I just popped the pin off the old vent, and replaced the broken pin!

    Fin:

I could have bought an abarth with the cost of the last service. I am trying to get away from the major service portion at least for about a Submariner lol.

He's a pic from the previous open heart surgery at Boston Sports Car. They do a good job, but pretty pricey.

Took about a month for my last service. Most of the down time was trying to source tubi headers for the car.

I thought about wheels. Only thing I'd probably do is a bbs lm style, gold with polished lip. Looks period correct. these are work wheels, but gets the point across:

Yeah, that is perfection. Why not buy the works like that car? Looks great and a lot cheaper than BBS, aren't they?
