CLS Wheel Options

Looking for options on some wheels on the CLS. I am thinking of downsizing back to 18's from 20's, I am looking at these rims:

Vossen 051 Forged with the lip.


Vossen 051 Forged Monoblock w/o lip



Thoughts?

i say without the lip, the lip is gonna make the wheel look smaller than 18

I read CSL at first.. not sure if that's because of the BMW or four loko in me speaking

well anyways, the rims look huge in the pic w/o lip. are those really 18's? any pics with the lips on cls?

I say stick with 20's I know its harsh here in the north east.
But I don't think it would look good with 18's unless you eliminate the wheel gap which will be pretty hard.
I love a black cls with black or polished wheels!

Let me clarify...

The one's with the lip are 20's. The one's without are 22's. You guys probably noticed, like I did, there is next to no tire tread on the road with 22's. No way...on 22's.

I would like to see some 18's or 19's on the CLS to see what they will look like, but that is a hard press to do that. I am considering 19's as well, as 18's like you said may be too small especially with lips (like streetdreamer noted).

Basically, I just more tire than 25 aspect on the rears and 30 in the front. I would like at least 35 front and 30 rear. Another point to consider, the rims without a lip are one piece forged, whereas the one's with the lip are three piece forged. Only one reason I am leery of three piece rims is due to any seal issues.

Anyone with 3 piece seal issues (or not), let me know your experience.

I think 18's will look way too small. As good as the vossen wheel looks in that pic, it wont look nearly as good on that car in that size. Lip? Fahhget about it, your cls will look like a dragster.
I understand completely about wanting to go the 18" route from 20" for the ride comfort, but you'll be throwing your money if you're going for a good "look" with the 18's.

CLS is black, and after thinking some more on it I think 19's would be a better choice looking at my OEM 18's and the 20's side by side....it's hard to go back to 18's they look so small now.

I like the rivets that show with the lip, but I also like the clean line look of the one's without. Both are available in 19's, got to weigh some options with tire size, etc..
