  1. #1 Default Which Head for my tripod??
So I got a tripod coming my way and I need to get a head for it. The internets mostly suggest the Markins Q3T ballhead w/ RRS quick release or an Acratech head but those a too baller for me

so i think i narrowed it down to these two:

    Manfrotto 327RC2

    Manfrotto 498RC2

which one would you pick? other suggestions are welcome

I have an older model of the Manfrotto 327RC2.. The pistol grip alows you to make adjustments really fast.. but it doesn't hold as much weight as a regular head... however unless you are getting a ginormous lens.. bigger than even the 70-200 then it should be sufficient..

yea i was leaning more towards the pistol grip style for easy adjustment, i dont think i would ever need to use a lense bigger than 70-200. That on my camera is like 112-320 lol

Agreed with Mike, but I didn't buy one since I sometimes rent 400 and 500 prime lenses.
