Thread: Cayman S Wheel Advice

  1. #1 Default Cayman S Wheel Advice
So a few weeks ago I bought the Cayman S that some of you have seen and I took to Yummies. It has 3 badly worn tires and one mismatched one on it at the moment, so I need to buy some new ones.

What I was thinking of doing was either buying 3 new ones to match the okay tire, or, while I'm buying tires, upgrading to a set of cheapish 19'' wheels and buying 4 new tires.

So far I've been looking at O.Z. Superturismo and Ultraleggara's, as well as some ForgeStar F14's (kind of weird with the lugcentric thing)... I know they aren't the best, but I don't want to blow my whole budget on wheels (also don't want something that if I bend I have to kill myself), so I'm looking at like under 2g's for the set. I really like the concave look, not sure if there is anything in that price range, but that would be a big plus.

Also not sure what color I'll do... Was looking at doing grey car with black (I know a guy with a oem carbon hood he bought then didn't like, who wants to get rid of it for a grand, so that would work well with black), orange (mini 997.1 GT3 RS), or red wheels (Mini 997.2 GT3 RS, I know some company makes the flag graphics for a Cayman).

Edit: This Stasis wheel is my idea of perfect but they don't make Porsche fitments.

    Any suggestions?

Yea, those were the Forgestars I was considering. I think they are really good looking, but cast lugcentric wheels with "forge" in the name is a little sketchy.

forgestar is owned by iForged, its there entry level wheel brand. Everybody from AMG owners to porsche owners to GTR owners are running these and I havent seen any negative comments yet.

That would be my suggestion for an inexpensive wheel... what are they? 5x130? Let me see what other wheels are out there in that fitment

Work just came out with some new stuff on their Gnosis line that would look good on the Cayman, not sure where it will fall on budget though.

I believe it's 5x130. Not sure on offset.

I think I'd prefer something full faced, the lip'd look doesn't really do it for me on the Cayman.

Edit: Ideal but way too much money

    I like forgestars...they look good/quality/affordable.

If im not mistaken they can customize the offset of the wheel to your liking aswell.
