And yes, an A6 or S4 would solve your problems
my 1 series has the ski package which means hockey sticks fit through it and no need to lose seat space. So i can take two hockey bags, sticks and players. Mustang you would lose a seat

A6 and S4 are nice. Just wish the prices were lower...lol

A nice lightly used S4 is about the same money as a new mustang GT

Check out the new GLI. Thing is way bigger than i expected. Trunk is huge folds and its got the Gen 3 E888 so it scoots. its also smaller than the S4 but i think it actually has more trunk and interior space.

S4 sounds like it would be an excellent choice for your practicality needs. Probably a little less fun to drive than your 1 though. That understeer though.

    For free.

They had an all black 350 at the dealer when I was there the other day. So nice but tough to stomach 30k + my car.

I agree. As much as I like BMW they lose their value quickly and are overpriced to begin with

Is the depreciation across the board for the BMWs? I had looked into this years ago and it seemed like the 3 series held its value better than the rest. I think it had worked out that after 3 years or so, the 3 and 5 series seemed to be worth about the same, and after 5 or 6 years the 3 series and 7 were about even, with the 5 a little lower. Of course, this was probably back when the e39 five series looked handsome on the back of a flatbed towtruck about once a week and the early bangle butt 7 series was in the mix. Those could certainly have played a role in the values.

M's are better at holding their value and most new cars value drop like a tank. You'd like the S4, I have one with coils, tune and it rides great.

Everyone has a photographic memory, some just don't have film.

Really i should just get an A6 and call it a day
I miss my BMW quite a bit. It wasn't anything special but I really did love that car. The A6 is an amazing vehicle though. Tons of room for both kids and the trunk is enormous. It's nice that we don't need to take my wife's SUV everywhere we go now. I do miss the sportiness of my 3, the A6 is a much bigger car, especially relative to your 1er and it doesn't handle nearly as well...but the 3.0T motor makes you nearly forget all of that. What a great powerplant. I've been toying with the idea of coils to add a little sportiness but it's just such a great, powerful family hauler comfortable for everyone, I don't know that I want to mess with that. Anyway, if you go for an A6, I don't think you'll be disappointed

thanks but it is ok. If it doesn't have the sport diff i wouldn't be interested.

Right now i am on a fact finding mission. I have never driven an S4 so I want to do that and see if the steering is as bad as people say. Also want to see what they would give me for the 1series
