  1. #1 Default Need a tailor for custom shirts and suits
So because of my unproportionate sizes I can't find clothes that fit... apparently to have a 20" neck I have to have a 60" belly or If I have a 54" shoulders I need to have a ginormous waist...

Everything I buy needs to get taken in Well the last guy I used to go to, has retired, I need a new person to bring my clothes too... anyone recomend someone good that they have had good experience with? Basically most of my shirts get taken apart to basic fabric panels and remade, so I need someone good

Been going to this guy for years and he has never let me down. I know a few other people that also go to him and wouldnt go anywhere else. He has been doing this for a long time and can get whatever you need done. If he thinks the fabric wont hold up or what you want wont look good, he will tell you right away which I appreciate and respect.

probably stating the obvious but its a good idea to make your first visit a cheap one, take a cheap shirt or something that wont piss you off if they mess up, friend of mine took a $700 suit to a tailor he had never been to before, the pants ended up being too short and the shoulders were all messed up

My family and I have always had great results with tailors at Brooks Brothers. Some will let you bring other brands, but others are a little picky It's worth a shot, if you're desperate for a tailor. Just my $.02

    Pete,

Why don't you just get your shirts done custom?

John Farley's in Newburyport does bespoke dress shirts. Nordstroms does made to measure, if you can find something close in size.

Been to Nordstrom and Saks... It's not technically a custom shirt... And nothing more than what I do now, instead of my tailor doing it, it's their tailor doing it with my measurements.

If you have your measurements I can give you the name of a tailor I've used in Thailand for fully custom shirts and suits.

My dad used to get custom shirts from some small shop in NYC. I'll ask him next time I talk to him.

The store in Newburyport that I mentioned earlier will do one off custom, bespoke shirts. They have a million swatches to choose your material and pattern from.
