I have a 1997 Jaguar XJ6 short wheel base Gold. It is bone stock at the moment, but I have decided I want to play around with it and make it my project. Since it is a british car it does have a few problems and I need to address those as well as start modifying it. After I do all the repairs I think I will start with just performance before I even touch the interior and exterior. I am a teenager and this was my first car and even though I have a new car I don't want to get rid of this one. Feedback is greatly appreciated considering I have never modified a car before and mods for this a far from easy to find. Also if there are any Jaguar aficionados out there diagnosis of problems are greatly appreciated.

    Problems:
Moonroof motor works but doesnt engage
Tilt on the steering wheel doesn't work
    Power Lumbar Support doesnt work
    SRS airbag light
    Coolent Sensor Busted
    Oil pressure sensor iffy
    Sagging Headliner (common problem)
    Cupholders Broken (common problem)
Chrome on front nose fell off cant seem to get back on
    Multiple Misfires (o2 sensors)
    a/c compressor died
    sometimes maplights randomly turn on
    power door locks not working
need new radio/module frame with screws
    need new vents
    Serpentine Belt keeps loosening (pulley??)
    Would like new clock module

    Modification Plan:
    Performance Exhaust/High Flow Cats/Resonator Delete
    02 Sensor Delete
    Short Ram Intake
Electric radiator fans with manuel override
    Iridium Plugs
100 Octane Tune (how to go about this cannot find anything about it online)
    Headers
Replace the Seats with Vanden Plas Seats
    Chrome 19" rims
    Headrest TVs
    Visor TVs with camera
New Sound system (only have current 4 speaker base system)
    2 12" Kicker L5s in the trunk
    Suspension
    Lowering Springs
    High Performance Brakes
    Please make further suggestions

I want this to be one cool cat

    Welcome!
In my opinion, it's a jag sedan not a performance car. Forego the exhaust, headers, and tune.

Why the 100 octane tune? I don't even know if there's a place around here to get 100 octane, but there are a few e85 stations.

    Welcome on!

I agree. Forgo the performance mods. It's a luxury sedan. Enhance that. I like the cars, I'm personally a Jag fan, but enough is enough. Be aware--this is going to cost you a small fortune to just fix. Theyre great when they work. I wouldn't even get involved with this car considering everything you described. Good luck if you choose to. Oh, and check BOTH blower motors. These cars have 2 iirc and one notoriously goes.

Right now I have a Loaded Ford Fusion V6 AWD as my daily driver and in my opinion the Jag is not only faster but better handling. It is def a performance sedan or at least has the potential to be. And from what I have read the XJ16 straight 6s respond very well to performance mods.

It's not my car nor is it anywhere near the northeast right now lol. but the body kit is Autocouture iirc with some custom work on it. it looks a little different now.

With a laundry list of problems like that my last concern would be a body kit or sweet hundred spoke daytons. My troll senses are tingling on this one
