  1. #1 Default Anyone experienced with audio stuff?
Installing the new nav, Pioneer AppRadio.

Removed the console, all step by step. Removed the old navigation. Hooked up new wires with the onstar-eliminating pac c2r-gm24 and tapped each corresponding wire:

Hooked it all up, started the car, followed the procedures in the nav and navigation is working like a dream, all the electronic functions are just fine, the only thing - music is not coming out of the speakers.

If anyone has some time to help me or know a good place where I don't have to drive an hour to get, I would really appreciate it. I'm a noob.

My console is all apart now. I kinda know what Mat felt like when his was out, lol.

Come to my house... I did the system in my ML55 minus the sub enclosure. Not to mention I was a certified installer for a number of years

edit: I posted it in the chat thread...

but I'll repost here... I suspect you have an amp from the factory in the Vette and it needs power via the remote turn on wire on the App Radio.

I just spoke to Hamad. He said GM made installing aftermarket navs tricky and in order to get it working, I need to bypass something with the stock amplifier. You know anything about that, Pete?

Bose audio always runs seperate amp. Nissans are also like this. You can do one of 3 things:

    1. Get interface posted above
    2. Run own speaker wiring from head unit and eliminate factory amp
    3. Cut audio feed wires at gazinta amp and connect directly to amp gozata wires, effectively bypassing amp without removal. This will require fsm and schematic, but not very difficult.

Let me know if I can help. I still have full access to all info I need.

lol. true that. Times like this I wish I didnt try to save $

Pete, look at pic I posted above, it's the correct interface to use with Bose and to disable onstar.

    Problem must be something else.

Yeah but I only chose this one because I do not want to retain onstar.

I was told to get the one I got by c5_bearsfan on CF who is selling complete kits.

Sounds like you need to A: bring it to someone (Pete) or B: do some troubleshooting.

    1) Figure out if the stereo amp has power. If it does move to step 2, if it doesn't jumper 12v power to it.

    2) Figure out if sound is coming out of the deck. There are outputs you should be able to hook up to other speakers as a test. Maybe the unit you bought on ebay is bad.

First of all I'll need a new battery cuz this one died for like a 5th time.

My speakers work, when hooked up to the old nav.

I'm going to stop by local car audio shop and ask them whats up.

The difference between the two adapters you have is that one of them, works with a bose amplifier... the other does not... whether you want onstar or not is not an option for you to choose from because you have bose. You could make a harness yourself if you want to try it... some times it works, other times it doesnt, you would need 1 set of RCAs to do it

Pete, I have C2R-GM24 which is for Bose and doesn't retain onstar. I didn't just buy a random one.

WILL WORK IN VEHICLE THAT HAS THE FACTORY BOSE AMPLIFIER REMOVED OR BYPASSED CUSTOM WIRING IS REQUIRED

    http://www.amazon.com/PAC-C2RGM24-Cl.../dp/B0002J21YM

    Wrong harness.

I think you need this, but it retains the ONStar, which really shouldn't matter.
You need to be asking these questions on CF.
