  1. #1 Default Mattress shopping

My back hurts. I lie down on my mattress and I have to roll on side for pain to stop.

I lie down on the floor, it's not comfortable but not as painful for my back.

Cheap solution would be sleeping on the floor but I don't mind spending few hundred on something I'll sleep on for the next few years.

What and where to buy? Don't want to spend more than $500 on a queen size.

you can get cheap memory foam ones for $300. they wont last long, but for a couple of years they should do the trick for you.
    Oh Yeah!

seeing a back specialist is prolly a better idea than randomly throwing money at new mattress imo

i feel your pain though, i have the same problem, just havent had the time to go and see someone about it

have you tried to flip the mattress? that would at least give up an idea whether the mattress is the cause (which it probably is).
    Oh Yeah!

Just did little testing. There's a great chance my pillow sucks too.

    Ideas for a pillow?

You have a mattress that you can flip?? I have a Sealy Posturepedic. It doesn't allow me to flip it. Maybe that's just cheaper mattresses or something.

That has to do with your neck really not your back. Maybe use a firmer pillow. It will probably help align your spine better.

the top side and the bottom side of my mattress is identical. is that what you mean? never had a sealy posturepedic, but any spring mattress ive had before are not "uni-direction" either

a cheap mattress is just as bad as a bad mattress... There are a million different types of mattresses out there, some soft, some firm, firm with pillow top, different types of springs, memory foam, etc etc etc

figure out whats causing your pain

Last time I think I could flip my mattress was the shitty one I had when I lived in the barracks. It couldn't have cost more than $50. My mattress was almost $1000.

I'm with Mark. I love my TempurPedic. Not $500, though, but nothing to wear, so good for life. Go to Jordan's, do the sleep study. they'll reccomend the best design for you.

I guess I'll check out Jordans or some other mattress retailer store and see what I like.

Quick google search, lotta sites comparing their mattresses to TempurPedic. Is it like Beats headphones for the mattress world?
