I went to see it last night in 3D. I didn't read what it was about before, and I was expecting some random anime movie, with stupid monsters and boring for three hours.

Well, I was surprised. James Cameron did a really good job. I mean, really really. Later I found out he had the script for the past 5 years, but he was waiting for movie industry and the 3d technology to develop so he can go full throttle with what he wanted people to see. The main purpose was to make the eyes of Avatars real.

All in all, $300M well spent. No wonder it received two Golden Globes. I had a 'wow' on my face after seeing it.

Did you got to an IMAX theater?

I'm going to see it on Saturday in Reading.

I saw it in Randolph at the showcase cinemas. 3D is a way to go.

I say the previews at the IMAX in Reading and have wanted to see it since. I assume the 3d effect is the same regardless of the theater.

I found an article about my concern and this author says they are not the same and IMAX may not be the way to go for this movie.

I saw it in 3D but non-Imax. I thought it was really good but haven't seen the Imax version to give a comparison.
