The car has two fuel pumps. A regular "walbro" style in-tank to get the fuel up to the motor, and a mechanical cam-driven squisher that launches the fuel pressure from 45psi to 400-1600 depending on load. I would recommend against getting the "internals" kit and instead get a complete unit from APR or CP-e or someone who assembles them in house with all new hardware and DLC coatings on the wear components (internal cam, rod, etc.) as well as being bench-run before shipped to the customer. This ensures that you will be able to do a direct swap and forget about it... a non issue in the back of your mind. You DO NOT want a direct injection fuel pump to fail.
FYI, from your earlier post, if you were sticking with what you had, you would be fine.
Absolutely if you are making a path for a bigger brighter more powerful future with the car, consider going all 3" exhaust plumbing. Especially if a larger turbo, fuel pump, intercooler and supporting mods are going in.
