Default Laser Interceptor/V1 display E92 M3

Thanks to Matt for hardwiring the V1 and for making a clean display of the laser/radar controls in the ashtray.

See you later for some tint!

respect for doing research and going proper, going big with laser interceptor

super clean install! Make sure you check with a bubble level that the sensor heads are perfectly level vertically and horizontally.

A laser jammer install's effectiveness is half sensor positioning and half sensor quality. If your sensors are not aligned correctly, you may need to add a coat of Veil anti-reflective coating to achieve jam to gun results

RI 55, can you take pics of the whole unit installed? I have an Escort Sr7 and am less than please with the performance. Also, who made that custom ashtray bracket? Thanks!

BTW, that doesn't look like a RS6 interior, and I see a shifter boot(RS6=slushbox only), what car is that in?

LMAO!

RS4 Guy, This is in my M3. The control box is mounted behind the glove box fuse panel. Here is a pic of the front sensor mounts on the bumper (I do not have any rear sensors as of now)

http://forums.yuppieracing.net/showthread.php?t=2123

I dont have laser jamming in my RS6, just rockin a trusty V1 and a CB radio for now. One of the reasons being is not knowing where I want to mount it. On another note, I had a Blinder Laser Jammer mounted on the front of my wifes A3 in the two outer slots of the lower front bumper, I'm not sure if they would fit in that area on the RS4, kinda too close anyway.

As for the ashtray mount, Matt from Luxury Details did my M3 install. He is more than capable of mounting and wiring anything to your RS4.

Good luck, I'm sure you will enjoy.

Yea yea yea.......

Didn't read the thread the whole way, Im sure we've all been guilty of that once or twice. Anyways, who made that plastic housing to hold the V1 display in place? Thats what I want to know as I want something similar in the RS ashtray. Thanks.

Josh

I understand who did the install, what I want to know what they used to MAKE the ashtray bracket. Be it a custom molded bracket, a piece made by another company specifically for an E90/92, etc....

Lets wait for RI55 to reply, thanks.

it was a piece of ABS plastic that was molded to fit the ashtray... I was there when the install was done. I picked RI55 up and we watched Matt make the piece and then we got lunch at Kelly's roast beef... LOL I'm very good friends with RI...

Ok thanks, thats what I was looking for. Do you know the molding process? If it's just a sheet of ABS I think I could tackle this myself with a heatgun and mold it right in.

Can you do a repeat of that when we get the tint done?
